Without doubt the look of this phone is what´s going to catch everyone´s attention, and rightly so in our opinion. As though it has arrived from somewhere in the near future, the physical design of the phone itself is like nothing you´ve seen before. LG´s Chocolate series has given you all some of the most eye-catching designs since it started not all that long ago, but the BL40 has raised the bar to a whole other level. Even with its 4 inch screen, LG have somehow achieved a slim, lightweight and utterly sleek body that feels like a dream in your palm. Everything from the curved, tempered glass that makes up the surface of the touchscreen, to the almost join-less gloss black body, to the cool red highlights used to bring it all to life: everything says that this thing has had a lot of attention and skilled craftsmanship go into it, and it´s not often you get to say that about a mobile phone.

But aside from all that, the screen itself, in our opinion, is even more impressive that anything else this thing has to offer. At a whopping 4-inch diagonal length, it´s just about (if not quite) the biggest you can get your hands on. However, what makes it really special is the fact that its 800 by 345 pixels are set in a 21:9 format. That makes it the first truly panoramic phone screen ever. Admit it: you like the sound of that! But while you might expect that to mean that your movie watching is the main thing that´s going to benefit, don´t forget that not many things are released in true 21:9 format. But before you start despairing, think about how good the games that are designed for this thing are going to be. Then, even better, think about how good the internet is going to be when you flip this thing on its side to browse in landscape mode. In fact, we can happily inform you this thing will actually let you read a whole web page, left to right, without the need to scroll across, or zoom in and out. How cool is that?!

 

And of course the BL40 Chocolate also boasts everything you´d expect of a true high-end phone. There´s WiFi, AGPS, fast HSDPA speeds, video playing, a music player and even an FM transmitter (so you can broadcast your music collection to any FM radio within range)... what more can we say?!

 

 

Without any shadow of a doubt, this is the best looking phone we´ve seen for some time. With its tempered glass screen, amazing seamless body, gloss finish and surprisingly slim size, this is the new marker than any new style phone has to live up to.

 

But away from all that superficial stuff, the BL40 has the specs and features to make it something to be considered by more than just style freaks. There´s the amazing 4-inch touchscreen. The full page web-viewing. The very decent camera. The... well, you get the point. And if you had any sense to go with your style, you´d get this camera too! Hunt yourself out a deal pronto.
