Cheap and cheerful, the Samsung Ch@t B3410W is a Wi-Fi-enabled handset with full QWERTY keyboard support.
Look and feel
The Samsung Ch@t B3410W has a traditional mobile-designed-for-social-networking look, with a 2.6 inch touch-sensitive screen and a rounded design. Comfortable to hold, you can navigate around the menu with ease thanks to the clarity of the icons and responsiveness of the screen. When you want to write longer messages, simply slide out the keyboard and the screen will rotate to landscape mode so you can concentrate on typing.
The three keys beneath the screen provide instant access to making and ending a call, and launching the main menu. The look is the same as the original
B3410 as the Ch@t is its successor, complete with Wi-Fi and a larger internal memory.
Special features
The Samsung Ch@t B3410W is the ideal handset if you enjoy texting and messaging friends, and your budget is minimal. Social networking has been integrated into the phone, with icons for the most popular sites like Facebook and MySpace. You can re-arrange the order of the icons too thanks to the TouchWiz interface – icons span useful features like the document viewer for opening Word and Excel files on the move, informative features like the
Google Search feature, and entertaining features like Gmail, games and music player.
Using the various icons is enhanced by the
Samsung Ch@t B3410W’s Wi-Fi ability which boosts how easily you can connect online – and, of course, keeps your costs for this to zero. However, it is a shame Samsung has not also included 3G support on this handset.
For those moments you’re not chatting or messaging, the Ch@t has a camera onboard – albeit fairly basic at just 2-megapixels but fun, nonetheless – and an FM radio so you can keep yourself amused.
