Look and Feel
The Samsung Monte Slider E2550 has a neat design thanks to the glossy finish on its back and the angular look of the buttons below its screen. Not as the thin as the
Samsung S5200 handset, the E2550 has the same thickness as the
Shark 3 – and similar, simple, features too. However, it is still lightweight (85g) and extremely portable so you can take it with you for mobile communication and entertainment.
Sharing part its name with the
Samsung Monte S5620 and the
Monte Bar C3200, the Samsung Monte Slider E2550 is far closer in ability to the C3200 and both have overtones of the more powerful S5620 when it comes to design. The sharply angled call buttons, for example, are similar although the navigation key is much bigger than on the touchscreen version.
The 2 inch screen and sufficiently spaced slide-down keypad enable you to use the phone effortlessly and comfortably.
Special features
The Samsung Monte Slider E2550 features social networking integration and there is an app for Facebook. You can quickly launch this app by selecting the icon, although with no 3G or Wi-Fi support, don’t expect interacting online to be rapid. You do have a number of alternative communication options to choose from, though, including Bluetooth, microUSB, SMS and MMS so communicating with friends should be easy enough.
Musically, the Samsung Monte Slider E2550 offers you more than you might expect from a budget handset. You can store your music collection on the phone, expanding the memory to up to 8GB to support this. And the inbuilt FM radio has the option to record so you can always listen to the shows you like, when you like. The DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) technology boosts the sound quality too.
You can take pictures and record videos too, on your Samsung Monte Slider E2550. The basic 1.3-megapixel camera has the ability to snap images which you can keep on the phone or send to your friends and family. Although the camera has no flash or autofocus, having a camera on your phone can be handy – and the phone’s size means you will probably carry it with you for those spontaneous photo opportunities.
You don’t buy the Samsung Monte Slider E2550 for its features. You buy this phone because you want an affordable slider mobile with a good battery life – up to 16 days on standby – and friendly design.
