This newest release from Sony Ericsson boasts some of its most advanced features to date, building on the already popular walkman series. Whilst incorporating the features of previous Walkman phones in to a slick looking slider, the W995 sits very much at the top of pile with additional features including MediaGo, an application allowing the transfer of nearly any media type from PC to phone retaining the same quality. With enough battery life to watch 2 full length films and a possible 8GB memory, the W995 will be competing with the iPhone when it comes to the media stakes.
The W995 has the desired 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, all boosting its standing when it comes to media. The W995 also has an impressive 8.1MP camera with face recognition, autoflash and geotagging. Of course it also has video recording functions but the quality of this yet unknown.

The W995 is an excellent handset, poised to make waves in the media phone market, although it is lacking the S60 smartphone technology. This shouldn´t be too much of an issue with Sony Ericsson using a good operating system in the W995, all features and applications running smoothly. The lack of a touch screen is a slight disappointment, taking the W955 out of the running when it comes to the titans of media phones like the iPhone, G1 and Storm handsets. The W995 like most previous walkman phones from Sony Ericsson, has its own unique appeal with a slick street design, good functionality and inclusion of a brilliant camera and of course, amazing media capabilities.
