The Mobile World Congress held in 2008 saw the revelation of a new line of phones by popular mobile phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson, the XPERIA. The XPERIA line of phones is looking to bring about a marriage of mobile web communications along with a host of multimedia functions. The X1 is an arc slider phone which has a metallic finish and has a bit 3 inch display and has a brilliant resolution of 800x480 pixels. The display is also touch sensitive. The QWERTY keyboard lies underneath the screen and has to be slid open. The X1 runs on the Windows Mobile platform. Navigation through the device is made easy not only by the touchscreen, but also by the 4 – way joystick. The panel interface can be changed according to the user’s preference. Along with HSDPA, HSUPA support and a 3.2 megapixel camera, along with an FM radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, this phone is sure to give the likes of the Samsung Omnia a run for their money.
